Jim’s Tree


In memory of Jim Johnson, a family friend, who was like an uncle in my life. His precious wife Dana requested a painting of their favorite tree for her kitchen, so that she could enjoy it inside as well as out. This was a special request, since I love trees and Jim, but also because Dana has become such an encouragement to me! She has also become one of my biggest patrons, and so I always give her paintings my all 🙂

I went out to her lovely country retreat (oh man its so relaxing and lovely!) and took pictures of the tree and surroundings. The painting is more of a portrait than a landscape.
